Sand trap
This is one of the new markers after only a week or two in place, partially obscured by sand and dirt. It seems to me that only a very aggressive campaign of street sweeping -- and vacuuming -- would keep the sunken markers clean. Also, the markers will not work when the slots fill with water. But worst of all, standing water, sand, slush or dirt could completely hide a slot -- yet it could still trap a bicyclist's wheel.
